Ciutadella

Santandria beach or Cala Santandria is situated at four kilometres from Ciutadella, located between Sa Caleta d'en Gorries and Cala Blanca, as well as next to the village with the same name.

There are some prehistoric caves in the surroundings. A legend tells that the name is given by a Christian prisoner. He was wound after the christening of the daughter of a Moor captain, he called this coastal corner Sancte Andrea. This sea inlet (which is two hectometres large at the entrance and seven hectometres long, and at 3,5 nautical miles there is Cap –"cape"- d'Artrutx) is characterized by being not very big, it is very crowded by local visitors and tourists, the beach is sandy and exposed to the winds from the west-northwest, a gentle breeze, quiet and clean water, the slope is gentle and with no barriers.

The marine and underwater conditions for anchoring boats are good. This sea inlet is not sheltered from the winds from the west, but from the rest, the ground is sandy, there are no dangerous sandbanks and you can anchor near the coast.

The southern coast of Menorca is very irregular, and in the sea inlet and the headlands you can find a big variety of underwater fauna and flora, so that there are also lots of fishing boats around. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs and the deviations. The private car can be left on a free parking area in the surroundings. You can also reach this beach with the public transport.
